We're about making London's myriad of Arts & Cultural possibilities a reality for those itching to get invoved. Making it an accessible, stimulating and thoroughly enjoyable experience....
Whether you've no one to go with and simply want company. Whether you and a friend or friends want to dive in but you're not sure how to break through the noise or where to start.
The why around Arts & Culture...
In a report by the Art Fund on the importance of The Arts in our lives, it showed that although 63% of us have participated in arts and cultural activities (galleries, exhibitions, museums, theatre etc) very few (6%) do so regularly (once a month).
The key takeaway of the research being..."Those regular attendees reported a higher sense of satisfaction with their lives as well as greater levels of fulfillment in what they do".
What a great motivation to get involved... if you need one!
The why behind a Companion...
Discovering that many of her otherwise very confident friends and their parents and friends, and empty-nester couples too, were largely uncomfortable going alone to London’s theatres, exhibitions and cultural events - and that others would put the idea in the too hard box due to information overload... was a surprise for the passionate arts & culture enthusiast and Londonophile, Elizabeth J Floyd - who would ultimately to become our Founder.
As a result, Elizabeth went about quietly making it easy for people to dive into their areas of interest; helping them to navigate the noise; organising, advising, and on many occasions, accompanying them until they got the hang of things.
The feedback was always outstanding. Clearly there was a need - the engagements keep rolling in...
and so the Arts & Culture Companion service was founded
Its ethos... opening the doors to London's vibrant arts and culture scene, to everyone; enhancing their experiences
by providing an informed Companion to take the strain - making it easy and comfortable
